Why Accounts Get Banned for Spam on SproutGigs

If you’re a freelancer on SproutGigs, you may wonder why an account can be restricted or banned over a proof that seems like a small mistake. The reason starts with trust.

Buyers pay real money for real work. If proofs can be faked, buyers will not stick around. No buyers means no tasks. No tasks means no income for anyone. That is what enforcement protects: your ability to keep earning on this platform.

So here’s some of the behaviors that count as spam:

  • Claiming you did the task when you did not.
  • Submitting the same screenshot for different tasks.
  • Cropping, editing, or altering evidence to hide the fact that the work was not actually completed.
  • Sharing proofs with others so they can copy your work.
  • Leaving out the exact information the buyer asked for so they cannot verify what you did.

That is not a mistake. That is an attempt to deceive and get paid for work you did not do. And the system catches it.

“Why proof cannot be changed after submission?”

Many tasks validate automatically the moment you hit submit. Buyers review through the API within seconds. If we let people revise after seeing the result, the system becomes a guessing game. Submit anything, see if it passes, change it if it does not. That is not fair to the freelancers who actually follow instructions.

“What can I do if I was banned?”

Some violations lead to a block but the account can be reinstated under a penalty. Others lead to a permanent ban. Fake proofs, repeated invalid submissions, or anything that undermines marketplace trust can result in a permanent restriction.

You can appeal. We review every case. Once a final appeal decision is made, it is final. Repeated requests do not create another appeal stage.

Read the instructions. Do the task. Upload the required proof. Double-check it. Then submit.
